 What’s New for the 2026 Kia Sorento?

The three-row Kia Sorento boasts sharp styling, exceptional engineering, and a full selection of modern features. In the 2026 model year, the Sorento is unchanged and holds the same appeal as the 2025 version.

The first two of the Sorento’s five trim levels feature a four-cylinder, 2.5-liter engine. This engine generates 191 horsepower and 181 pound-feet of torque. Front-wheel drive and an eight-speed auto transmission are included. The higher trim levels have a four-cylinder, turbo 2.5-liter engine that gives you 281 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque. The engine is mated with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. All-wheel drive is standard for select trim levels.

The exterior design of the 2026 Kia Sorento is remarkable with an aggressive front end, a confident profile, and sleekly defined sides. The nose is rectangular with a hint of Kia’s signature bowtie shape. It sits atop a dark, rectangular bumper. On the flanks, the headlights are styled with a stack of LED bulbs and a thick LED bar that runs vertically. This bar then shoots toward the grille for a modern touch. Available or standard exterior features are raised roof rails, 20-inch wheels, and a hands-free liftgate.

If you choose the entry-level Sorento EX, your new crossover will come with a 12.3-inch infotainment system screen, a folding bench seat in the second row, a six-speaker sound system, wireless connections for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, forward collision warning with accident avoidance, adaptive cruise control, rear auto braking, intersection collision avoidance, and lane keeping assistance.

The higher trim levels build on the EX’s features with synthetic leather or authentic leather upholstery, lane centering, second-row captain’s chairs, an integrated navigation system, a wireless device charging pad, front and rear parking sensors, a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, a digital instrument panel, a blind-spot camera, a household power outlet, a Bose audio system with 12 speakers, rear sunshades, heated seats for the second row and a heated steering wheel.
